First week of Eighth grade!

My first week of school was decent. Although nothing went wrong, it’s still school and I still have to wake up early. I haven’t had much homework, except studying for my Pre-ap reading and English tests, which I hope I did well on. The test was over our summer reading, “The Book Thief.” I really enjoyed the book and I’m glad it was a good book. Hopefully, this will be a good year!

The Tag-popping Team

“Oh no! We still haven’t got Mom anything for her birthday!’ Dad exclaimed. It was two days before one of my favorite celebrations of the year and we hadn’t got any presents yet!

We rushed to the bank and discussed what we get mom for her super special day. We started shopping, and in just a short amount of time we had way to many gifts. Knowing that we had way to many gifts, we still walked into bath and body works.

We began to smell the wonderful scents, and I liked summer breeze and he liked sweet pea. Dun dun duuuuun! “Summer breeze smells so much better!” I said angrilly. “C’mon Audge you know sweet pea is way better!” Dad said calmly. His calmness was making me really mad. We glared at each other knowing hat we were each way to stubborn to give up. So we both  just put them away.

While leaving the store we each caught a whiff of the greatest smell we had ever smelled. It was like a warm summer day, popcicles chilling my tounge. we sniffed it out like bloodhounds until we found their brand new scent “Oahu.”

It was the day of her birthday and she opened up her Oahu set. When she smelled it her eyes lit up like candles on a birthday cake. That day I realized that even though my Dad and I fight, we make a perfect team.

My Passion

It was a normal day at dance, but as we stretched I could feel that it would be a very special day. We started turns in second, and I was pretty nervous because I wasn’t to good at them, but I  had been practicing them a lot. When I did my first  pirouette  I saw in the mirror that everything was precisely in line. My toes  pointed like the crescent moon on a dark, clear night. My arms opened in a perfect parallel to the floor. With every turn I could feel my smile getting broader and broader. My butterflies melted away like butter. As I pulled my leg into passe after my 16 turns I realized that dance was my passion. I also realized that if  you work hard enough at something you will succeed.

2013 and 2014

2013 has come to an end and I can’t believe it! I did so much in what  seemed like so little time!

2013 was a great year with many good and bad moments. One thing great that happened was getting back my Star grades. I was so nervous the day we got our grades back. I was shaking nervously  as my teacher handed me my paper, but as soon as I looked at my grades the nerves melted away like butter, and I couldn’t contain my excitement. Commended on all three tests! I was elated!  Another great moment of 2013 was my birthday. I woke up that morning feeling older and more mature. I went into the living room and my mom and I talked about how we could not believe that I was 11 already. Later we went over to my grandma’s house and swam and opened presents, and I had a great birthday. 2013 was also filled with not so great moments. My little brother and I were playing tag around the house. [never a good idea] I was running and there was a door halfway closed so I slammed it opened and and when I did, it hit the couch, bounced off , and hit my brother smack in the face! I heard his scream and I immediately  ran back him to find him gushing blood out of his eyebrow! My parents rushed him to the emergency room and founds out that he had to get stitches for the very first time!

I also have many goals for 2014. Of coarse I want to pass fifth grade this year. A major goal I have this year is to be a lot more respectful to my parents. I get in a ton of fights with my older brother and I would really like to stop doing that. I would also like to do more algebra and read the rest of the” Left Behind” series.

2013 was filled with ups and downs but all together it was a great year and I hope for another great one to come.
